What could be more convivial than these meals shared with friends after a day in the mountains, or more simply after exhausting hours of work. In the ranking of winter meals most appreciated by the French, tartiflette and raclette occupy a special place. The main problem lies in their high calorie content.
Indeed, these winter must-haves consist of cheese, potatoes, cold cuts, and therefore foods high in fat and sugar. Not to mention that they are often accompanied by alcohol. However, they have a friendly connotation, and it is sometimes difficult to deprive yourself of them by deleting them completely. So is it possible to include them in your menus without creating too much damage to your figure?
Leaner deli meats
“Yes if we respect certain rules“, says Corinne Fernandez Dietician Nutritionist. The number one rule is to choose lean meats white ham, Grisons meat or defatted sausages and even hard-boiled eggs. “By opting for these foods, we limit the damage while having an interesting protein intake that will calm hunger and prevent abusing the rest”, says the specialist. For the tartiflette, you can go to bacon bits or ham sticks which are less fatty deli meats.
Side vegetables
Then, to lighten the calorie bill, we focus on vegetables. We opt for seasonal ones: broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, carrots, cabbage, etc. They can be eaten at will with raclette or tartiflette. Grilled antipasti type, grated, with a drop of olive oil and salt, they will allow a water and fiber intake which will compensate for the richness of the rest of the meal. If we add a classic potato or even a sweet potatowe have a completely balanced meal.
No more than 3 slices of raclette
Regarding the cheese that constitutes the base, we play it safe by limiting ourselves to a small quantity. We can innovate with the cancoillotte, a very low-calorie cheese that can easily be melted on a potato.
But if you opt for the classic raclette cheeses, you limit yourself to two or three slices depending on their gender, age, weight issues. We obviously never exceed 3 slices, it’s a big maximum. “There are also low-fat cheeses, but in terms of taste, not sure we find our way around. But we don’t double the quantities on the pretext that they are less rich in fat !” warns Corinne Fernandez.
Tartiflette menu? We also limit the cheese, and we do not refill.
The balance is played over time
You also have to pay attention to the dessert. Clementines enough to finish this type of meal.
For the next meal, we go green with meat or lean fish accompanied by vegetables without bread, pasta, rice, legumes or potatoes.
Don’t forget to move!
And at the same time we are moving! If you’re in the mountains, reserve sessions of classic or cross-country skiing, or brisk walking for at least half an hour without stopping. Thanks to all these tips, the tartiflette or raclette will not leave marks on your figure!
