We know that tea is excellent for your health. A study published in April 2017 already showed that tea drinkers were less likely than others to develop Alzheimer’s disease; in February 2015, researchers discovered that drinking 3 cups of tea a day protected against cardiovascular disease; and in December 2017, we learned that tea is an ally of choice against glaucoma… In short, that’s good!
This time, researchers from the National University of Singapore (in Singapore, therefore) are looking into the health benefits of our favorite drink. For this, the researchers brought together 36 adults aged 60 and over: between 2015 and 2018, they collected a lot of information about their lifestyle and the participants underwent several MRI examinations.
Better organized road traffic… in the brain!
Verdict? Researchers have discovered that seniors who drank (at least) 4 cups of tea per week for 25 years (!) had a better flow of information between their different brain regions. It should be noted that the type of tea does not matter – oolong, green or black.
