Basil is a perennial aromatic plant (depending on the regions where it grows) or annual (because it also lends itself to pot culture). Its leaves, traditionally green, can also be purple depending on the variety.
The fresh flavor of basil goes wonderfully raw in salads, tabbouleh or even to give relief to savory and sweet dishes. This herb tends to lose its flavor when cooked.
This plant is also good for health, because it has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and antiallergic properties. This aromatic plant is also a source of vitamin K1, which promotes healthy bones and the blood system.
