…or relieve
Even with the best will in the world, headaches are sometimes unavoidable. But there are some steps you can take if you feel you are getting a headache.
Painkiller
Do you feel a headache coming on, for example due to general malaise? Then immediately take a painkiller. This may allow you to prevent the attack or at least make it less severe.
Try to eat something
If low blood sugar is the cause of the headache, it may be enough to eat something.
Get some exercise
Sometimes it helps to stop what you are doing and go for a walk. Especially if the headache is caused by, for example, sitting in front of the computer for too long.
Open a window
Letting in some fresh air can help reduce headaches. An oxygen-poor environment contributes to headaches.
Rest and relax
If you feel the headache coming on, it is best to stop your work and lie down in a quiet, dark room. By sleeping, the headache decreases or even disappears completely!
Use a compress
Place a hot water bottle or an ice pack on your forehead. This can relieve the pain.
