The latest bulletin from the National Institute for Public Health Surveillance (INVS) dated Tuesday, June 2, reported 42 cases of A / H1N1 influenza in France “including a first case linked to secondary transmission”. A young woman from Poitou-Charentes who has not traveled has in fact contracted the virus in contact with a patient returning from the United States.
“The confirmation of a first secondary case does not modify the national epidemiological context”, specifies the INVS. “The other 41 cases are all imported (11 from Mexico, 25 from the United States, 2 from Canada and 3 from the Dominican Republic).”
In total, 2008 reports have been received and processed by the INVS since the start of the epidemic.
