May 12, 2011 – Planning and preparing your meals isn’t always easy? Which meal are you most worried about? What are your main obstacles to preparing balanced lunches and dinners?
In May, “Tout le monde à table” (TLMAT) is continuing its vast survey on the eating behaviors of Quebec families and is interested in the obstacles associated with planning and preparing your meals. This project, led by nutritionists from Extenso, focuses on the eating behaviors of children aged 0 to 12 and their families.
Anyone who is willing to share their experiences and opinions are welcome to do so on the TLMAT website. The answers will be used for a large research project led by nutritionists from Extenso, from the University of Montreal.

April poll results
In April, TLMAT nutritionists asked you about your sources of nutrition information. “Nutrition has become such a popular and profitable subject for the media that the public is faced with a wealth of information that is too often contradictory and comes from different sources with varying credibility. For many people, nutrition even becomes a source of anxiety. It is not surprising to note that nearly 1 in 2 respondents say they are overwhelmed by the abundance of information on nutrition, ”says Nathalie Jobin, nutritionist and project manager at TLMAT.
The TLMAT team also asked you for your opinion on the best ways to reach young parents to talk to them about nutrition. Technological tools come first. Indeed, 20% of respondents cited informative websites; then come interactive sites and traditional media (radio and TV) with 19%. Finally, schools and daycare services would be a good medium for 15% of respondents.
The Internet is also the primary source of nutrition information for the majority of respondents (62%), followed by television (37%), magazines (36%), books (22%) and newspapers (18%) . The PasseportSanté.net (16%) and Extenso (13%) sites were mentioned by several respondents.
