The messaging service WhatsApp is preparing a new function and that is being able to show example links.
Meta is the parent company of WhatsApp and this company continues to develop new features steadily. It has to be, otherwise the messaging service will be overtaken by competitors. The new feature concerns being able to share sample links.
Sample links in WhatsApp
You can already send a lot within WhatsApp. Think of photos, videos, status text or GIFs. It is also possible to forward a link. Many users do this on a regular basis and this is now becoming a lot more convenient. WABetaInfo came behind this† Currently, when you click on a link, you see an example of a website to which the link points. With the new function you can see a link preview. You don’t have to tap it to see this.
We are talking about ‘rich link previews’. You will not only see a small part of the page, but also more details. Below you can see the difference between the status update as it is now and the new version. The new variant is not yet available, it is currently being tested.

What is striking is that the new version displays much more details. The link generates an expanded preview by adding more details to the shared link. Link examples of this are not yet available. It is also unknown when WhatsApp will roll out the feature to all of us.
