Flour is finer than flour
Good question! In this section, Health Net is looking for answers to nagging questions. This time: what is the difference between flour and flour?
Both flour and flour are made from ground grains. Grinding grains produces flour. The more of the grain in the ground product, the more whole grain the flour is.

Flour is created by sifting flour. The sifting removes the husks, germs and bran from the grain, leaving only the white powder, also known as flour. Flour is therefore a lot less fiber-rich than grain.
When do you use what?
With its coarser structure, flour is suitable for baking, for example, brown bread or pancakes. You are more likely to use flour for baking cakes or cookies. You also use flour for baking white bread.
Nowadays, more and more different types of flour are available. Think chickpea flour, almond flour and coconut flour. What are the differences? You can read that here.
