It is not (yet) too late to take good resolutions start of the year! Precisely: to encourage us to take certain milestones, the international management company Nielsen has just published a vast survey on the needs and desires of the French … And the least we can say is that it inspires us!
On the office side, first. On average, 66% of French people are satisfied with their professional situation: it is a little below the European average (which is 71% – even 74% for our German neighbors). In addition, more than half of the French are happy with their colleagues, their working environment and work-life balance. It is on the remuneration side that it gets stuck: only 31% of French people are satisfied, against 42% for the European average and even 63% in the Netherlands! Good resolution 2016 n ° 1: negotiate an increase … or move.
Spend time with loved ones
On the leisure side, then. “Spending time with loved ones” remains the favorite activity of 35% of French people, who exceed – for once! – the European average (34%). Moreover, Europeans remain faithful to their television : 1 in 3 people say they watch it regularly. Good 2016 Resolution # 2: Subscribe to Netflix and / or visit distant family more often.
Finally, on the well-being side, 44% of French people dream of leaving the city (and everything that goes with it: the metro, noise, pollution…) to settle permanently in the countryside. A desire shared by our Belgian, Swiss and British neighbors. The only exception: Spain, where we dream of urban landscapes. Overall, the French want to travel, strengthen family ties and be in good health in 2016 … Needs that far exceed their material wishes (career, money, housing).
