Softer, more resistant and more flexible than latex, the condom of the future, designed by a biomedical engineer, seduced Bill Gates.
The billionaire Bill Gates believes in the condom of the future! For this, the founder of Microsoft has invested 100,000 dollars in a project led by Australian scientists from the University of Wollongong (south of Sydney).
A hydrogel instead of latex
In detail, this new condom is made of a new material that increases pleasure and therefore makes men use them more willingly. The researchers, under the direction of biomedical engineer Robert Gorkin, want to replace the current latex with a “powerful hydrogel.” This material is softer than latex, very strong and at the same time very flexible, and therefore looks more like skin. “This should make condoms feel closer to human skin,” says Robert Gorkin in a University video uploaded to YouTube.
A texture imitating human mucous membranes
Indeed, this texture also perfectly mimics human mucous membranes. It is so close to it in terms of feeling and sensation that it is currently exploited in the creation of artificial muscles and implantable tissues. Another use of these hydrogels, food production, but also contact lenses. On this blow, Bill Gates, once again had an eye!
