Large size and average weight would be the right measures to multiply the conquests.
Researchers at Chapman University in California (United States) conducted a survey to understand whether height and body mass index played a role in the number of sexual partners of men and women over the course of their lives. They interviewed 60,058 heterosexual volunteers, 52% of whom were men and 48% women, aged 37 on average. The researchers integrated different criteria including height, education level, age and body mass index (BMI) as main indicators in each person’s personal sexual history.
The results of the study show that participants aged 30 to 44 had had an average of 8 partners since the start of their sex life. 58% of men and 56% of women declared having had more than 5, while for 29% of men and 23% of women, this number rose to more than 14. And that small size seems to be an unfavorable criterion . Indeed, short men reported having had less than 5 sexual partners. While those of rather large size declared 1 to 3 times more.
“These results indicate that size is a relevant criterion in the mating market,” says Dr. David Frederick, lead author of this study. “We do not have clear scientific explanations to establish this link, apart from the observation that women are often attracted to men who are taller than themselves.”
The weight was also taken into account. Indeed, it is the men closest to the middle of the body mass index curve who have the most sexual adventures. Participants of “normal” build and those who were overweight reported a higher number of sexual partners than underweight men.
These conclusions seem to be also valid for women. Those who have the fewest sexual adventures are skinny. “They can be very unhappy with their weight and suffer from anorexia and therefore have little motivation to flaunt their lean body,” says Dr. David Frederick. “Weight loss can also be the result of serious illness and therefore a smaller number of sexual partners.”
