1/ In what way is the Kertyol PSO range a pioneer?
At Ducray, when it comes to developing new products, our teams work closely with patients. Focus groups were created to identify their needs. For a chronic and displaying condition such as psoriasis, the issues raised often related to the difficulties faced with the gaze of others and the constraints linked to the treatments offered (texture, smell, frequency of application required, etc.) Psoriasis is indeed a recurrent pathology evolving in flare-ups, with therefore a strong impact on the quality of life.
It is to meet these daily needs that we have reworked the galenics of dermo-cosmetic products within the KERTYOL PSO range. It is a question of offering them products with a pleasant smell, which do not stain or stick. to clothes, with a simplified frequency of application.
In addition to patient feedback, we have worked with recognized experts in this field such as Professor Jean François NICOLAS, dermatologist. Its expertise has enabled us to develop products with active ingredients that meet the new pathophysiological data of the disease: skin not affected by psoriasis lesions is not healthy. It presents inflammatory cells that may be responsible for possible future flare-ups and pruritus all over the skin. This non-lesional skin therefore requires specific and global management of the skin of the patient suffering from psoriasis with specific active ingredients.
2/ What innovative active ingredient did you choose to put at the heart of your formula and why?
Celastrol comes from the roots of Tripterygium wilfordii (TW), a plant widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties. This targets both skin cells called keratinocytes (key players in inflammation) and immune cells called lymphocytes (producers of inflammation molecules). Celastrol breaks the vicious circle of inflammation responsible for psoriasis outbreaks. Via the skin, contained in our specific KERTYOL PSO skincare products, it acts effectively on the epidermis on both non-lesioned skin and skin with psoriasis lesions.
3/ What is the Ducray routine to adopt against psoriasis?
All products in the KERTYOL PSO range have demonstrated their excellent skin tolerance under dermatological control in patients with psoriasis. Patients who tested the product were satisfied with its cosmetic properties and perceived its effectiveness, resulting in a significant improvement in their quality of life. The objective within the entire range is also to simplify care routines in order to meet the needs reported by patient work groups. All products have also been tested for use alone and in combination with commonly prescribed drug treatments.
The KERTYOL PSO moisturizing balm is to be applied once a day to the whole body, preferably in the morning, in order to treat the whole of the skin, particularly that which does not present any lesions. If a topical treatment is associated (dermocorticoid for example), it is recommended to apply it in the evening on the lesions.
KERTYOL PSO shampoo is indicated for scalp psoriasis. It is to be used three times a week. In the meantime, if necessary, the Elution shampoo can be combined. The shampoo in combination with a drug treatment has an interest in the morning, in order to rinse these topical treatments applied in the evening which can have a very sticky texture.
KERTYOL PSO topical concentrate can be applied to body lesions alone or in combination. In the morning to promote (thanks to its keratolytic active ingredients) the penetration of the topical medicated product applied in the evening. It can also be left applied to the scalp all night before being rinsed off in the morning (with KERTYOL PSO shampoo or Elution) in situations where the scalp is very itchy.
And finally, the KERTYOL PSO cleansing gel is a specific hygiene treatment to be used on a daily basis.
