Putting on a blush, blushing with anger, red as a crayfish… The pretty range of expressions referring to blushing masks a skin problem that is potentially difficult to live with for people who are prone to it. These localized rednesses cover a reality of varied origins. Erythrosis characterizes sudden redness located on the central part of the face, mainly around the lips and eyes. These sudden blushes or capricious “flushes” (hot flashes) arise without warning, depending on various aggravating factors that relate to emotions (anger, shyness, etc.), lifestyle or external aggressions: ” alcohol, spicy food, temperature variations (with the passage from cold to hot), intense physical effort can trigger and aggravate these rednesses”, specifies Dr Elisabeth Berrissoul, dermatologist and co-founder of the platform and the Epiderm telemedicine app. Around fifty, women who are sensitive to these blushes tend to see the problem worsen with hormonal changes. In winter, women with sensitive skin also suffer more from this problem with the “bites” of the cold.
How to treat these rednesses before they poison the daily life?
Erythrosis, when it does not turn into rosacea (chronic inflammatory disease that requires specific care after consultation with a dermatologist), can be reduced by regulating one’s lifestyle (diet, tobacco, temperature difference) and by implementing anti-redness beauty rituals.
4 anti-heat stroke rituals
1-Skin prone to redness finds it difficult to tolerate certain cosmetics. The first reflex is therefore to choose care suitable for sensitive skin and “anti-redness”. Many parapharmacy brands offer ranges with different dosage forms and treatments (cream, gel-cream, mask, moisturizing serum) dedicated to this problem. The main mission of these moisturizing formulas will be to soothe, reduce redness and create a kind of barrier to external aggressions. These treatments will be chosen according to your skin type. The driest skin will use richer cream textures while normal to combination skin will prefer light textures such as emulsions.
2-The make-up removal must be soft so as not to irritate the skin further. A soothing and decongestant thermal spring water spray that will easily replace the tonic lotion.
3-Skin prone to redness should also protect yourself from the sun even in winter. Think of light and tinted creams such as BB or CC creams with sunscreen that protect while giving a healthy glow.
4 – After the basic care to moisturize the skin, place the makeup-camouflage.
The green corrector stick is the first ally of blushing skin. Apply it by patting on small redness, rosacea or rosacea until you get a gray tint (if it stays green, there is too much product).
Then work on your complexion with a fluid or compact corrective foundation depending on your skin type in order to unify.
Finish with a light touch by dusting your face lightly with light powder or illuminator.
