Summer vacation is coming to an end. For all that, are the French more rested when they come back from vacation? Not necessarily, if we are to believe the results of a survey Odoxa for Le Figaro, France Inter and MNH, carried out between August 24 and 25 on a sample of 1005 people. Only 34% of them say they are less tired than before going on vacation, while 14% say they feel in less good shape. A majority of French people do not see the difference and say they feel “neither more nor less tired” than before the holidays. A phenomenon that can be explained as follows, according to the survey: the effect of holidays disappears two to four weeks after resuming the usual rhythm.
A positive effect on the minds of the French
If the French do not all feel in great shape on the eve of the start of the new school year, the summer holidays nevertheless have a beneficial effect on their health. There were therefore fewer colds (13% in August against 22% in July), bronchitis (7% in August against 13% in July) or even nasopharyngitis (6% in August against 11% in July). The summer break also has a positive effect on the minds of the French and limits the risk of depression, the survey reveals. The majority of the people questioned thus affirmed to have disconnected of their work (86%), benefited more from those close to them (82%) and took more time for them (78%).
