A new study has just demonstrated that even if initial treatment fails, testicular cancer remains largely curable via a mixture of different chemotherapies (paclitaxel, ifosfamide and cisplatin).
Testicular Cancer: What is a Tumor? germinal?
The research behind the discovery was published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology and was led by Professor Jack Gleeson of University College Cork. To achieve this publication, his team followed a hundred patients for 10 years. All of them were carriers of malignant germ cell tumors.

Testicular cancer: paclitaxel, ifosfamide and cisplatin tested
“Paclitaxel, ifosfamide and cisplatin (TIP) is an established treatment for germ cell tumors based on a phase II trial, but the long-term efficacy of this combination in patients with adverse health risk factors* has not been tested until now,” Professor Jack Gleeson continues in his report.
Conclusion: This therapeutic combination proved to be very effective in combating testicular cancer, with high response rates for the entire cohort (nearly 80%).

Testicular cancer: “chemotherapy combinations are effective”
“Studies like this show that chemotherapy combinations are effective in treating testicular cancer,” summarizes the author of the research. “Early detection of cancer significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and cure,” he recalls on this occasion.
The pathology mentioned in this article represents 1 to 2% of male cancers and mainly affects young people. “There are different forms of testicular cancer depending on the type of cells from which the tumor originates. In 95% of cases, it is a germ cell tumor,” noted The Arc Foundation.
