The AST67 association is releasing a new white paper dedicated to “health food”, from which Why Doctor publishes some extracts. Today, focus on the pathologies associated with a poor nutrient balance.
We do not necessarily know it, but a bad diet can cause many diseases.
Tendinitis: certain foods are the cause of a decrease in blood pH and maintain inflammation of the tendons. Thus, eating too much fat, too much sugar or too much protein creates a breeding ground for this pathology. “To remember: always combine animal products (acidifiers) and plant products (alkalinizers) to reduce the risk of metabolic acidosis”, adds the AST67 association.
Cardiovascular problems: the importance of nutritional factors has been widely demonstrated in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
Type 2 diabetes : it is characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, that is to say by too high a level of sugar in the blood. Must therefore “limit the intake of sugar as well as ready-made meals (generally valid rule…), which always contain hidden sugars”, point out the experts.
Joint problems: when we eat industrial and processed foods, we make more bad white fats. The origin of joint pain would come from too large a proportion of these. It is therefore a question of reducing as much as possible any pro-inflammatory product: sweets, fries and cold cuts.
Autoimmune diseases (Alzheimer, Sclerosis, Psoriasis, Crohn’s, AMD): Iautoimmune diseases are on the rise. Several factors favor them: genetic, endogenous, environmental but also nutritional, because foods can act on the immune system through their anti-inflammatory and/or immunomodulatory effects. “The intestinal microbiota is one of the major regulators of the immune system, an additional reason to opt for a balanced diet as a preventive measure”, adds AST67.
Obesity : one of the main causes of obesity and overweight is an energy imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended. Today, we consume far too many foods high in calories, high in fats and sugars, but low in vitamins, minerals and other micronutrients.
Stress : certain foods or drinks favor the appearance of psychological tensions. In addition to avoiding excess coffee and the consumption of energy drinks, it is recommended to eliminate from your daily life what leads to excessive secretion of cortisol: sweet, salty or refined foods (white flour, white pasta, bread white), sugary drinks, fried foods, alcohol.
Cancer: a high-calorie diet promotes carcinogenesis, ie the process of cancer formation.
