Cannabis: drug or medicine?
Cannabis is a drug that can be addictive. In adolescents, in particular, the dangers of this psychotropic drug are known: dangerous behavior, loss of concentration, suicidal tendency…. We also know that cannabis inhibits the immune system and has an impact on sex life.
However, the question of the decriminalization of cannabis is regularly asked. In some countries, it is legalized and France often comes back to this subject. Cannabis is, in fact, recognized for its pain relief benefits when consumed therapeutically.
A survey to understand the therapeutic use of cannabis
There is no question of rolling a joint! In the case of therapeutic use, cannabis is available as a spray. It must also be prescribed, for this purpose, at the Timone hospital in Marseille. Neurologists are looking for healthy, non-smoking volunteers to participate in a study which should take place over a year.
The aim of the researchers is to ” study the active ingredients of the product (THC and CBD) in order to find its optimal combination, from synthetic cannabis’ report our colleagues from France 3. Ultimately, it’s about understanding how cannabis can relieve diseases like multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.
