Swarovski smart binoculars help identify birds

The Swarovski Digital Guide (dG) is a smart pair of binoculars that help identify bird species and other animals. That works as follows.

There is a 13MP camera incorporated for shooting photos and videos, and with which you can zoom in up to eight times. You then transfer those images via WiFi to a smartphone app such as Merlin Bird ID, in which what you have spotted is identified.

The technology distinguishes between more than 7500 species of feathered friends. The device does come with a hefty price tag. The cost is in fact 1850 euros.
