Suzuki is expanding its electric vehicle production capabilities, and plans to launch a small zero-emission crossover in Europe in 2023 to compete with the Dacia Spring. An electric SUV is also planned for the multi-purpose urban vehicle segment.

The Spring will soon have competition
Despite a difficult context for the market for small affordable vehicles in Europe (electrification or expensive depollution but price to be contained), Suzuki is holding firm in this segment and intends to stay there in the all-electric era. The battery-powered mini-crossover is expected for 2023 and could replace the current Ignis, nothing having filtered about the future of the latter unlike the rest of the range. Dacia, in advance but aware that the competition is preparing its weapons, plans to replace the Spring from 2024.
Progressive electrification at Suzuki
In 2024, Suzuki should continue its momentum with an electric SUV intended for the B segment. It could be a technical “cousin” of the future Toyota bZ2X as part of the partnership between the two manufacturers, but this remains to be confirmed. .
As for thermal models, the Swift and Swift Sport should be renewed in 2023 then the Vitara in 2024 to follow the S-Cross just replaced, with further electrification through the recently launched block 1.5 hybrid alongside the 1.4 micro-hybrid.
Suzuki wants to reduce CO emissions2 of its well-to-wheel vehicles by 40% by 2030 compared to 2010 levels, and by 90% by 2050 with a view to achieving carbon neutrality.
