More than a third (37%) of students say they eat poorly, according to the results of a survey carried out by the CAS Institute for the student mutual EmeVia.
Studying does not seem compatible with a balanced diet. Indeed, during their first years of study, students do not seem to attach importance to the quality of their diet. But, their behavior changes over time. 39% of undergraduate students admit to a dietary imbalance, against only 26% of doctoral students.
No sector spared
This survey also reveals that regardless of the sector, students botch their diet.
Indeed, the figures tell us that 25% of students in agriculture and agrifood and 28% of students in STAPS declare that they do not have a balanced diet. Like 42% of business-communication-marketing school students and 43% of eco-management students.
The reason given: the time spent at lunch. 70% of students who consider that they have an unbalanced diet say that they do not have time to eat a quality lunch. On average, they only have 15 to 30 minutes of outage.
“The findings of the survey are quite edifying: the courses of study and the time allowed for lunch play a key role in the nutritional balance of students. We must continue to defend the importance of university time in connection with health global and more precisely with a balanced diet, whatever the sector and the place of study “, underlines Ahmed Hegazy, president of EmeVia.
