With the health crisis, many French people have been forced to telework. There are certainly advantages, but also disadvantages. In particular, as a recent survey by Public Health France highlighted last October, the French confined last March were more prone to low back pain. A year later, teleworking is more advisable than ever. And the stress related to the Covid-19 epidemic is still there.
Back pain is the result of something too heavy to carry
“I’m fed up”… You may have blurted out that expression one day without even thinking about its scope. However, it is not trivial. Many psychologists or psychotherapists find themselves facing patients who employ it. If not all of them have physical pain in their spine, this phrase sometimes illustrates physical pain. at the cervical level, lumbar, kidneys. When these are located in its places, they translate a body language.
Back pain is the result of something too heavy to carry. Something that puts us out of balance and prevents us from standing. It can be an emotional shock. Mourning, for example. Or the permanent tensions in his private or professional life which accumulate. It is not uncommon for depression to be often associated with chronic low back pain.
To relieve it, a multidisciplinary approach
The interaction between the psyche and physical pain has been proven since ancient times. And you don’t heal the body if you haven’t first healed your mind. This is called somatization. To avoid suffering, we can consider a multidisciplinary approach. You can start by consulting a general practitioner or specialist (rheumatologist), a physiotherapist, an osteopath or a chiropractor. Where to turn towards relaxation techniques which sometimes may suffice. Otherwise, psychotherapy can be tried because it can be effective to release your emotions by speaking. During the sessions, the practitioner will help the patient to express his discomfort with words.
The most important thing is not to let back pain set in over time and to react quickly. Indeed these pains serve as an alarm signal which should alert you and indicate the need to appease your suffering.
