A glass of fresh orange juice healthy? Unfortunately not, according to the Nutrition Center. A glass quickly contains 4-5 oranges and you can consume them in a short time. So be sparing with juices, smoothies and other sugary drinks, no matter how healthy they seem. But do you think that? Comment below.
ONCE, I’ll leave them alone, because that’s healthier
The Nutrition Center explains – fruit juice and sugared drinking yoghurt contain a lot of sugar. For example, a glass of orange juice contains 7 sugar cubes, the same as in soft drinks. Research shows that it can even make you diabetic. People who want to lose weight can also replace the juices with a fresh piece of fruit or a bowl of yogurt with a cup of tea or a glass of water. That saves a lot of sugar and you get it less quickly. The fibers from the fruit are also better preserved this way. Furthermore, the acid in these drinks affects your teeth. Every reason not to mention fruit juice and smoothies in the Wheel of Five, according to the Nutrition Center.
DON’T, I enjoy it
What nonsense to label a glass of freshly squeezed juice or a fresh smoothie as ‘unhealthy’. We understand that a beer or a milkshake is unhealthy. But a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice? Or an attractive yogurt smoothie that looks purple from the blueberries? Often no sugar has been added to a juice or smoothie. It is a way to get a lot of fruit and dairy. Handy for people with little time, or for people who find a piece of fruit less tasty or less hassle. You can also mix in spinach or kale if you really want to go healthy. People with poor eating habits, or those who are overweight, may need to be careful with fruit juice or smoothies. Especially if several glasses are consumed in a day. But if you’re just putting on weight, it won’t hurt much.
