The beautiful days are back, and with them, the desire to expose yourself to the sun. However, as you well know, it can be harmful in high doses and cause cancer. For the National Syndicate of Dermatos-venereologists, it is still as important to inform the general public about the dangers of sun exposure, and to carry out screening for skin cancer. This will be the subject of a special week, May 15-19.
Volunteer dermatologists will welcome people who wish to do so for a screening consultation free of charge. The opportunity also to take stock of prevention and precautionary measures, for example how to choose sunscreen. To benefit from it, you must make an appointment, via the dermatos.fr website, which geolocates the participant, or via the toll-free number 0805 53 2017 (free from a landline).
Prevention objective
Appointments can be made from April 25. Be careful, however, this is not a dermatology consultation, but a personalized and anonymous screening and information appointment. The week is completed by a teledermatology operation (remote consultation) on Thursday May 18 for populations at risk in health centers, in association with non-dermatological professionals. Finally, a traveling prevention truck will crisscross 10 towns in Seine-et-Marne, a department that is under-staffed with dermatologists.
