Samsung officially ends the Galaxy Note series. The boss of the smartphone branch, Roh Tae-moon, confirms this during Mobile World Congress 2022.
The Galaxy Note series may be to disappear, but the ideas behind the devices live on in the Ultra smartphones of the South Korean company. Earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was released, which supports a stylus. So if you’re looking for a Galaxy Note-like experience, you can go to the expensive Ultra phones.
No more Samsung Galaxy Note
The news comes as no real surprise. The last Galaxy Note that appeared came out in 2020. So no new model has been released since then. There have also been rumors of the series ending for some time. Samsung has now officially confirmed those rumors.
This also means that we no longer see two high-end smartphone series from the company appearing per year. Previously, you could expect a new Galaxy S at the beginning of the year and a new Galaxy Note around the middle of the year.
The question is whether this is bad. Samsung has been bringing Galaxy Note features to the Galaxy S line for years. One of the unique elements of the Note has always been that the screen was so large, for example. Smartphone screens have increased in size in recent years, so there was almost no difference between the Note and S lines. The biggest difference was often the stylus, which Samsung supplied with the Galaxy Note, but not with the Galaxy S.
