And you can feel free to worry about that for a while
With the words ‘standard four-wheel drive’ you already know that it is a hopeless mission for the Netherlands. This Mazda CX-50 is therefore not coming to the Netherlands. Four-wheel drive cars emit more CO2 and quickly price themselves out of the market in the affordable car segment. Performance models are less affected by this. Quite a shame, because the CX-50 looks cool. It is a new model for the US market and it is also being assembled in the US state of Alabama.
Not only does the Mazda CX-50 look rugged, it’s truly made for the wilderness. For example, the window styles have been reinforced so that you can tie survival gear to the roof to your heart’s content. At launch, Mazda will offer the CX-50 with a choice of two engines. The first is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder without turbo. The second is the same engine, but with a turbo. Hybrid versions will also be added later. On the released photos you see the Mazda CX-50 with a roof rack, but it is not standard. However, there is an off-road driving mode to defy unpaved terrain.
What will come to the Netherlands is the color Zircon Sand. You can order these on the new Mazda CX-5. This crossover can be ordered with a smaller 2.0-liter engine and front-wheel drive, which makes it more attractive for our country.
