A platform, open in October, allows you to make an appointment and see your psychiatrist in videoconference like a real consultation. Dr Fanny Jacq had the idea to create Doctoconsult when she realized that many people (pregnant women, the elderly, agoraphobes …) could not move, could not get an appointment quickly or could not find specialists nearby.
Consultations that do not require exams
This project is the result of several years of reflection. First validated by the National Council of the Order of Physicians, Doctoconsult has received authorization to practice telemedicine by the Regional Health Agency of Ile-de-France. Today, the platform’s activity is supervised by a Medical Committee made up of Doctors Christophe André, Fanny Jacq, Yasmine Lienard and Jean-Christophe Seznec.
After registration, it is possible to choose and make an appointment for consultations in psychiatry, child psychiatry, addiction and nutrition among more than 70 partner doctors. These are specialties which do not require clinical examination of the patient, which makes the use of videoconferencing possible.
Patient protection first and foremost
This consultation by interposed webcam makes it possible to maintain the link between the practitioner and his patient between often very distant appointments. This device is unique since telemedicines which exist in France mainly deliver medical advice. Here, everything happens as in a real session. After diagnosis, a prescription will be sent if necessary by mail as well as the treatment sheet. The rates and refunds are the same and payment is made by credit card.
Patient data is protected by being stored with an approved e-Health host. The videos are encrypted and the connection is secure. Today, Dr Fanny performs 1 in 5 videoconferencing consultations and hopes to bring more and more practitioners to his platform.
