Porsche unveils the Vision Gran Turismo concept car dedicated to the Gran Turismo 7 video game. This 100% electric racing car exists in virtual form, but also physically as a model. GT7 is announced for March 4, 2022.
Porsche adds its name to that of the twenty-five other manufacturers who have designed a virtual concept car called Vision Gran Turismo for the Gran Turismo racing game saga. Announced in 2019, the Porsche prototype is unveiled a year late, like so many projects in this troubled period. This is a futuristic, 100% electric racing car. Although intended exclusively for Gran Turismo, the coupe is intended to be ” absolutely realistic for the near future According to Peter Varga, director of exterior design for the brand. He estimates that this car could hypothetically see the light of day by 2035. In addition to the 3D model, a physical model of the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo was produced.
Electric and futuristic, but typical Porsche
Aesthetically, we find some characteristic codes of Porsche. These include the short, low front cowl between two curved wings, the roof fleeing to the stern through a double boss, the light strip at the rear and the short overhangs. The Vision Gran Turismo is low and wide, with a crisp but clean look. At the front we notice a new interpretation, more horizontal than currently, of the light signature with four focal points of the brand. The stern hides a movable spoiler.
