From October 14 to 19, the Italian group Ferrero, which produces Nutella, is organizing a communication campaign to reassure consumers about the composition of its products.
Use of sustainable palm oil
Palm oil has been widely criticized in recent months. And the product that has been mentioned the most during the debates that have been launched on the issue is Nutella. Although these controversies have had no impact on sales of the French favorite spread, the Ferrero group has launched a major communication campaign, to convince consumers that the palm oil used was not the worst vegetable oil.
From October 14 to 19, Ferreo is therefore launching an exhibition in a Parisian gallery and a series of round tables, intended for ” exchange and debate about the reality of sustainable palm oil “. When we talk about sustainable palm oil, it means that its production does not involve deforestation in Southeast Asia, does not kill monkeys and respects the rights of harvesters.
The Ferrero group uses only sustainable palm oil
And Ferrero would be wrong to deprive himself of this communication operation since, according to a report presented by WWF in September, the Ferrero group used 100% sustainable palm oil in the composition of its products in 2015. It is therefore high time to silence the bad tongues that constantly point the finger at the Italian group to denounce deforestation in Asia.
” The debate on palm oil has been built on preconceived ideas for too long and when we are asked about it, the questions are often poorly asked: we are challenged by asking us why we kill orangutans when there are none in the areas where we get supplies “, Reminded Christophe Bordin, director of external relations at Ferrero France, in the columns of 20 minutes.
