What time do you have breakfast? If you are a fan of toast and fruit juice before 11 a.m., you may be making a “thin mistake” according to Pr. Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London (in England).
Questioned by our colleagues from the Daily Mail, Pr. Tim Spector affirms that, in order to lose weight and maintain a harmonious silhouette, it would be necessary to postpone the time of the first meal of the day around 11 am – not before.
Allow 14 hours between dinner and breakfast
A recommendation based on the principle of intermittent fasting: also called “fasting”, this eating method consists of not eating anything for a specific period of time (generally: 12 to 14 hours in a row) in order to put the body “at rest” with a health and slimming objective.
Prof. Tim Spector studied the eating habits of members of the Hadza tribe, who live in Tanzania: “these people have no word to describe breakfast: the first meal of the day takes place around 10:30-11 a.m., approximately 2 hours after the last meal the day before, he explains to DailyMail. However, the Hadza do not know type 2 diabetes or obesity.“For Pr. Spector, these benefits can be explained by a better balance of the intestinal microbiota, these “good” bacteria that colonize our intestines.
According to the specialist, adopting this good habit (and provided, of course, that you take a balanced breakfast daily!) would make it possible to lose between 2 kilos and 5 kilos in the space of just a few months. We try ?
