The American says that the watch will have a fresh design. The company has not redesigned its wearable line since it introduced the Series 4 in 2018. Gurman notes that the new model will be “a lot bigger” than Apple’s current Series 7 models. This is to accommodate a screen that is seven percent larger. “It won’t have the familiar flat sides either,” he adds. And he notes that the redesign will represent “an evolution of the current rectangular shape.”
Additionally, Apple will use “a more durable titanium formulation” for the case. As a result, the smartwatch should be better suited for extreme sports.
