Now that Musk is the largest shareholder of Twitter, he immediately comes up with a proposal that is a rigorous change.
If you own almost 10% of the shares in Twitter, then you also have something to say. And Musk would musk not be if he immediately sends a striking message into the world. He has conducted a poll on Twitter, asking users if they want an edit button.
Musk comes with a change for Twitter
The edit button is against founder Jack Dorsey’s sore leg. Users of the platform have been asking for such a button for a long time. But the CEO of Twitter says it probably never will. He explained that the social network started out as a texting service and you can’t take back a text once you’ve sent it. Twitter apparently wanted to keep that vibe and that feeling. Musk may think differently about this and that could change the platform enormously.
Musk’s poll has two options. His options are a misspelled “yse” and “on,” which might make you think it’s all a joke, until you see the poll has been retweeted by Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. “The implications of this poll will be significant. Vote carefully,” Agrawal wrote, noting that the poll could lead to an actual edit button on the social network.
edit button
Many Twitter users have requested an edit button over the years, but the website has remained stubbornly resistant to those requests. At the time of writing, 74.2 percent of the 1,925,940 accounts that participated in the poll voted “yes” to an edit button. Whether Twitter will immediately get to work with the feature if “yse” wins remains to be seen.
