MG Marvel R (2021). The electric family SUV launched in the fall

MG’s new electric SUV, the Marvel R, will be available for pre-order soon.

Presented in March 2021, the MG Marvel R will land in concession in the fall. The electric SUV will therefore soon be available for pre-order in France, with a price range set between € 40,000 and € 50,000. Two variants will be offered, 180 or 288 hp.

On March 16, MG made a double blow by presenting two new electric models: the Marvel R SUV and the MG5 station wagon. The Sino-British manufacturer has already revealed some of their technical characteristics and focuses today on the family SUV that it details a little more before its arrival on the market.

mg marvel r 2021 — The Marvel R is available in rear-wheel drive with two electric motors at the rear and in an all-wheel drive version equipped with three motors.

mg marvel r power — The vehicle offers a cumulative power of 180 hp for rear-wheel drive and 288 hp for all-wheel drive.

The SUV between 40,000 and 50,000 €

The Marvel R, a clone of the model of the same name from Roewe (also belonging to the Chinese group SAIC), will indeed be available for reservation before its official arrival in the European MG network, this fall. In France, its price should be between € 40,000 and € 50,000 depending on the brand.. The Marvel R will be offered in two variations, detailed below.

Both variants are equipped with a 70 kWh battery and can be charged at a public terminal using the supplied three-phase 11 kW charger. The Marvel R can also benefit from the fast charge (DC) allowing to go from 5 to 80% in 43 minutes. MG specifies that the Marvel R also has V2L (vehicle-to-load) technology which allows another device to be charged using the car’s battery. : laptop, electric scooter and even another electric vehicle.

Technology and driving aids on the program

mg marvel r interior — Inside, the MG Marvel R has a 19.4 ” central screen. It is more than that of a Tesla Model S which measures 17 ”!

Three finishes are on the program: Comfort, Luxury and Performance. MG has not yet revealed their endowment, but announces that the SUV will be well supplied with driving aids with in particular the MG Pilot, a system that combines
14 advanced driving aids. Among the new features announced, ELK (lane keeping in case of emergency) and DWS (drowsiness warning).

The Marvel R also promises to be connected, with its 19.4-inch central touch screen, more than a Tesla Model S! Called MG iSmart, the multimedia system brings together several online services : Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, trip planning, load management, WiFi hotspot for passengers, etc.
