A decree published in the Official Journal specifies the role of the bodies responsible for evaluating mental illnesses in connection with the professional environment.
Regulation and management of work-related disorders are slowly being put in place. a decree published in the Official Journal this Thursday specifies the functioning of the bodies responsible for evaluating mental pathologies related to work, which confirms their recognition as occupational diseases.
These bodies are the regional committees for the recognition of occupational diseases (CRRMP), which work hand in hand with the Health Insurance on occupational diseases, a particularly complex issue.
Better medical expertise
Through the decree, their role is reinforced, as is their medical expertise. The CRRMPs will thus be able to have recourse to the competence of a university professor-hospital practitioner specializing in psychiatry when cases of mental illness are studied.
“In addition, in order to refocus and strengthen the action of the committees on the most complex cases – including the files of mental pathologies -, the text provides for the possibility of an examination of the simplest files by two doctors instead. of three ”, specifies the text.
This decree comes within the framework of the law of August 17, 2015 relating to social dialogue and employment, which stipulates that “mental illnesses can be recognized as illnesses of occupational origin”.
