The city of Lyon was deprived of its biannual Motor Show in 2021, but the event is due to return in 2022. Its organizers have just confirmed this – despite the continuing instability of the health situation – and unveiled the program for this next editing. Traditionally scheduled in the fall, the Salon de Lyon will take place for once in the spring, more precisely from April 7 to 11, 2022. Its organizers pride themselves on making it the ” first major automotive meeting in Europe This year, the Brussels and Geneva Motor Shows respectively scheduled for January and March having been cancelled.

The opportunity invites itself to the Salon de Lyon
For its 2022 edition, the Salon de Lyon will remain focused on sales more than on the revelation of new products, an orientation which seems to perpetuate it thanks to ” a return on investment appreciated by exhibitors both in terms of sales and contacts “, according to its management team. In 2019, the exhibition attracted more than 62,000 visitors, and 1,805 orders were placed there, an increase of 11% compared to the 2017 edition. Next April, for the first time, vehicles from opportunity will also be visible and available there.
The organizers promise a wide choice of cars selected, checked and revised » gathered in a space of more than 10,000 m². The Show will still cover a total indoor area of 50,000 m² and will include an area dedicated to testing. The electrified models will be highlighted, in particular on the Place des Lumières (at the crossroads of several halls) renamed Place Zéro Emission for the occasion. The list of exhibitors has not yet been made public, but 90% of the brands have confirmed their presence.
In addition to the exhibition of vehicles available to order, visitors to the Salon de Lyon 2022 will be able to take part in activities that remain to be known and discover several retrospectives. One of them will be dedicated to the Porsche 911, another to the competition Alpines, a third to the late Lyon manufacturer Berliet thanks to the eponymous foundation.
The Salon de Lyon 2022 will be held at the Eurexpo center in Chassieu, in the south-eastern suburbs of the capital of Gaul. Full price entry will cost €8 on site or €7 online. Access will be free for children under 12 years old. Count €21 for a “together” pack of four tickets (two adults and two young people aged 13 to 17 or one adult and three young people aged 13 to 17) and €5 for a person with a PMR card. Online ticketing is not yet open.
