Saved by a Facebook post. It’s a bit like the story of Karen McGregor’s son. This Canadian mother was able to receive treatment for her son, who presented with red spots, the origin of which she could not explain. It was after seeing a Facebook post showing a little girl diagnosed with Lyme disease, that Karen made the connection. She realized that her son must have had the same condition. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by tick bites.
Without delay, the mother had the reflex to go to the doctor’s office. “I called my doctor as soon as the office opened, and rushed my son to him. In the hours that followed, more and more spots appeared on his face, legs and arms.” , explains her mother on her Facebook page.
The doctor confirmed it was Lyme disease in the little boy. This one could be treated: “we were given antibiotics for treat Lyme disease, and we hope it was caught in time. ”The child was reportedly bitten by a tick three or four weeks earlier.
Karen recounted her social media storyso that it can be useful to other moms.
