The establishment Nicole Lafay has withdrawn from the sale and a recall of batches of cheese from unpasteurised milk of mixture (cow’s and goat’s milk) after the detection of the presence of the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes, announced this Wednesday the prefecture of the Loire.
“These are the following products: white cheeses by 4, dry and semi-dry bricks, fresh and rigotte hearts”, specifies the prefecture in a press release. These products were marketed until Monday, June 29, either directly at the Sainte-Agathe-la-Bouteresse farm, or on the markets of Boën in the Loire, or on the markets of Allier and Puy-de- Dome.
“All the products have been withdrawn from the market,” adds the prefecture. “However, some of these products were marketed before the withdrawal measure. It is therefore recommended to people who hold these products not to consume and destroy them, or to be reimbursed, ”according to the press release.
Likewise, people who have consumed these potentially infected cheeses and who have isolated fever or accompanied by headaches are invited to consult a doctor, indicating this consumption as well as the place and date of purchase of the cheese. Pregnant women, immunocompromised people and the elderly should pay special attention to these symptoms, as they suggest a listeriosis, serious disease whose incubation period (period between contamination and the onset of symptoms) can be up to eight weeks.
