The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition incorporates details referencing the British secret agent 007 to celebrate the release of the movie “Die Can Wait” in which the off-roader is visible. This is a limited series of 300 copies.
After several postponements due to the pandemic, the exit of Die can wait, a new feature film in the James Bond saga, is fast approaching. Aston Martin will be very present on screen with several models in the thick of the action. But it will not be the only British manufacturer in the casting. Land Rover will also be there, and is celebrating the event with a limited series of the new Defender V8 called Bond Edition.
It’s all in the details
Inspired by the Defenders that will be visible in the film and already are in some trailers, the latest addition to the Special Vehicle Operations department comes in a black tint with 22-inch black rims and an extended Black Pack giving it a menacing look. The blue front brake calipers stand out even more.
But it is above all by its multitude of details that this special series stands out., to know :
- “Defender 007” badge on the trunk
- exclusive backlit door sills
- projection of the logo “007” on the ground when unlocking
- exclusive ignition kinematics on the central screen
300 copies only
On the mechanical side, nothing changes. The Defender V8 is powered by a supercharged 5 L unit sending 525 hp and 625 Nm of torque to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, enough to go from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds in the 90 version (three-door).
Available in 90 and 110 body styles (five-door), the Bond Edition is limited to 300 units for the whole world, an exclusive laser engraved in the cockpit, and the handle of copies planned for France are already reserved. In standard configuration, the Defender V8 is available in France on special order from Land Rover from € 125,200. Die can wait is due out in French cinemas on October 6, 2021.
