Kia is launching two new special series, X Line and Blue Edition, on the Picanto, Rio and Stonic. The copies will be available in dealerships between August and October, in limited quantities. The allocations are revised upwards.
[Mis à jour le 26/08/2021] Kia is launching two new special series for three of its models. Available in dealerships from August or September depending on the model, these special X Line and Blue Edition series concern the Picanto, Rio and Stonic.
The Picanto X Line finally available
The X Line finish is reserved for the Picanto micro-city car. Presented for the 2020 restyling, this adventurer-style finish which was not to be released in France, finally joins the catalog for a few weeks in the form of a special series. It is distinguished by a grille, specific badges and shields, an exclusive Lemon Green color. among three available colors, a ground clearance raised by 15 mm, alloy wheels of 16 inches as well as body protections in black composite. LED headlamps, dark tinted rear windows and fog lights complete the equipment.
Inside, the Picanto X Line gains gray and Lemon Green inserts, a color also used for the stitching of the black and gray synthetic leather seats. The flattened steering wheel is also made of leather, while the crankset is made of aluminum. Kia specifies that the Picanto X Line will be entitled to the brand’s new logo on its steering wheel, grille, rims and tailgate.

The Picanto X Line will be available with the 1.2 DPi 84 hp engine, in two versions: the manual five-speed version is available from € 16,390, and a five-speed robotic gearbox version will also be exchanged for € 17,290. Note that no option is available, metallic paint being included in the price.

The Kia Rio gets a Blue Edition
At the same time, Kia announces the return of a special Blue Edition series on some of its models. Available on the Picanto in 2019, this temporary finish will appear this time on the Rio and Stonic. Between August and September, the versatile city car and the SUV will turn blue, inside and out.
The Kia Rio Blue Edition receives standard LED headlamps and fog lights, a lacquered black grille with chrome-look surround complemented by a line of chrome glass and dark-tinted rear windows. 16 inch alloy rims are specific, and electrically folding mirrors have the right to a turn signal repeater unlike the Active finish. The choice of body color is reduced to four metallic colors (free): Azure Blue, Ebony Black, Aluminum Gray or Magnetic Gray.
On board, the Rio stands out for blue inserts on its dashboard, door trims and black synthetic leather seats. On the other hand, the central console is in lacquered black. Finally, the Korean city car offers automatic air conditioning, in addition to many standard safety equipment.
In France, the Kia Rio Blue Edition is available with a single engine, the 1.0 petrol T-GDi with 100 hp. It is associated with a six-speed manual transmission. This special series, available from August in dealerships, is positioned just below the € 20,000 mark.
The Stonic follows the Rio in blue
The Stonic, the brand’s recently restyled urban SUV, uses the same recipe as the Rio: LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, black lacquered grille with aluminum-like outline, chrome window line… On the other hand, it also offers the roof rails and standard two-tone paint. Among the four choices offered, two are unpublished : Azure Blue with a white roof, and Aluminum Gray with a black roof.
Inside, the Stonic incorporates several blue accent elements, such as the outline of the center console, the dashboard insert or the stitching on the upholstery and the armrest. The door frames have a gray foam insert. Like the Rio, the Stonic offers automatic air conditioning. It will be available from September, from € 24,290.
