I am 61 years old and have worn knees, which makes my walking quite limited. Cycling goes well and I do that often. I also got daily exercises from the physiotherapist. Can I also train on an elliptical trainer, or am I putting too much stress on my knees?

An elliptical cross trainer is mainly intended for increasing endurance. If you have osteoarthritis in the knee, the movements you make on an elliptical trainer can be quite taxing. I do not recommend an elliptical trainer for osteoarthritis.
As you are now working with the physiotherapist, you are already well on your way. Specific exercises, cycling and walking, ensure that the condition of the muscles around the knee is as good as possible. This way you suffer as little as possible from osteoarthritis.
