ICNM 2013: the United States will be the country of honor.
“It is fundamental for Naturopaths and healthcare professionals to meet each year in a country to exchange and share their knowledge. These annual conferences participate in reshaping the future of complementary medicine and in the evolution of the healthcare system, until then mainly focused on the management of diseases, towards a system anchored in health and well-being. We look forward to presenting our exceptional program to you, which will play a decisive role in shaping the future of the profession of Naturopath. Naturopaths are general practitioners specializing in natural medicine. They are trained in famous Colleges around the world and today, in many countries, benefit from an accreditation issued by the Ministry of Education. The United States, a forerunner in this field, will be the guest of honor at the Congress in Paris ”declares Anne-Marie Narboni, President of the ICNM 2013 Congress.
A few words about Naturopathy …
Naturopathy is medicine based on the principle that the human body has an innate capacity for healing.
Naturopaths develop complete and effective therapeutic plans with traditional natural medicine methods aiming not only to treat the disease, but also to restore health based on: 3 cures, including detoxination, revitalization, and stabilization, as well as on 9 naturopathic techniques, including diet, phyto-aromatherapy, hydrology, breathing techniques, physical exercises, relaxation, manual techniques, psychology, reflexology.
What are the 6 fundamental principles?
- Above all, do no harm – naturopathic procedures minimize the risk of side effects and avoid removing only the symptoms.
- The Power of Nature Heals – Naturopathy recognizes that there are self-healing processes in humans and aims to support or even improve this process.
- Identify and eliminate the causes – the Naturopath identifies the causes of health disorders and treats them using natural therapeutic methods.
- Detoxify and purify the organism – naturopathy encourages the elimination of toxic overloads by optimizing the functioning of the emunctories (intestines, liver, lungs, kidneys, skin …).
- Educate patients – the Naturopath teaches his patients the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle habits (diet and lifestyle). It guides people to effectively integrate a new way of life into their daily lives and encourages them to become aware of improvements in their health and general well-being.
- Prevent disease – “Prevention is better than cure”. Preventive medicine reduces costs, pain and distress and saves lives. This is why the Naturopath assesses the risk factors, heredity and vulnerability to disease. A protocol aimed at improving the well-being of the patient will prevent new diseases.
Naturopaths strive to make their practice accessible to all and to have their activity more widely recognized by the competent authorities in natural medicine.
