First “filter” intended to block all these winter viruses which circulate in the atmosphere, the nose of your little one must be the object of daily care. This will prevent this “barrier” from giving way too easily to attacks from these same viruses or any other external pollutants. To rid your baby’s nasal cavity of the impurities that clutter it up, a daily (or even twice-daily) nose wash is really a salutary gesture. Especially since it also reduces the number of rhinos that it will catch during its first two years by restoring the filter function of its ENT sphere.
The blowing technique
Infant: lie it on its side and wash the “upper nostril” with physiological serum or a seawater spray. Then turn it and do the same with the other nostril: “pushes” by the serum, the phlegm descends through the other nostril. If needed, you can also use a baby nose.
From 18-24 months: one nostril after the other, wash his nose with the product and ask your baby to breathe.
From 3 years old: washing and then blowing the nose must become automatic, just like brushing teeth, especially at the time of rhino epidemics in kindergarten!
A daily gesture in winter
Do not worry: this gesture will not worsen the discomfort of your little one, already quite encumbered by his cold. On the contrary ! Instilling physiological serum or seawater solution into their nostrils helps reduce inflammation and increase respiratory comfort. Provided, of course, that this washing “is brief and does not turn into a” nose shower. “Rest assured, the sea water contained in the sprays has been deodorized (the salt has been removed) so as not to conserve that trace elements: magnesium, manganese, copper, gold, silver, sulfur …) whose benefits in terms of prevention of ENT diseases are now known. This daily washing will make secretions more fluid, facilitate their flow … and to avoid superinfection.
