During their lifetime, 40% of the French population should be affected at least once by a cold sore. 15% of them will even suffer from recurrent viral herpes labialis, with three to four outbreaks on average per year. Herpes simplex, the virus most frequently responsible for the pathology. This explains why the latter is actually more common than we think.
In four sections – identify, treat, prevent and fight – the site provides a list of gestures to avoid and things to do to prevent recurrences. He reminds us, for example, to always wash your hands after touching the lesion, not to disinfect the latter with alcohol or to avoid kissing those around you.
