The entry into force of the health pass for traveling within the European Union requires travelers to prove that they are not contaminated by Covid-19. Among the three options offered by the health pass, there is the certificate of recovery. What does it consist of, how to get it and what are its limits? Passeport Santé tells you more.
The certificate of recovery, one of the three options of the health pass
Since June 9, the health pass has become mandatory to be able to attend certain events, in particular gatherings of more than 1,000 people. From July 1, the health pass will also be essential for traveling across Europe. To obtain it, three solutions are available to you: a complete vaccination schedule, a negative test of less than 72 hours or the certificate of recovery. The latter constitutes a formal certificate that you have had Covid-19 and that you have recovered from it.
How to get your Covid recovery certificate?
To obtain the certificate of recovery, a positive PCR or antigen test of at least fifteen days and more than six months is required. To do this, it is possible to use the original version in paper format provided during the screening test. To obtain it in digital version, you can also register it in the #TousAntiCovid application by scanning the QR code of your test in the ‘notebook’ tab. If you can no longer find the result of your test, you can re-request it from the laboratory where it was done, by going to the dedicated platform: sidep.gouv.fr.
Please note: the certificate of reinstatement is not always valid depending on the country
While the certificate of recovery can be one of the three options for obtaining the health pass and traveling within the European Union, its use is not valid for all countries. Indeed, the general direction of health specified that it will not be ” not valid for returning to France from abroad, nor for going to Corsica or overseas “. In other words, it is authorized to leave France but is not sufficient to return there. Beyond France, other European countries may also not accept it. Therefore, we recommend that you check the entry and exit conditions for each destination.
