Abdominal pain: “We saw around his bed, it was filled with blood”
When he arrived at the emergency room on January 21, the patient complained of abdominal pain. Following the clinical examination, the doctors on site administered painkillers before sending him home, advising him to consult his doctor. “After that, he made it clear that he was not relieved at all, that he was still in so much pain, he still insisted on staying, but they didn’t want to know,” said Priscilla, his sister, to RTL.
Daniel Perrette died alone in his apartment on the night of January 22 to 23. Unfortunately, it was his relatives who discovered him on Monday, January 23. “We saw around his bed, it was filled with blood”says her sister, indicating that she and her family are angry that her brother is “gone in excruciating pain”. According to Priscilla, Daniel Perrette called the emergency room three times on January 21 because his pain worsened despite the administration of painkillers. An operator would have advised him to consult his attending physician.
Autopsy: a tear in the duodenum discovered
According to the first results of the autopsy, Daniel Perrette suffered from a tear in the duodenum which corresponds to the upper part of the small intestine. His relatives are wondering. Why did the medical team not carry out further examinations in the face of the pain of the thirties? “I’m not a doctor, but I don’t understand why we didn’t do a CT scan, an ultrasound, why we let him go alone when he was not well and he said so”testified Priscilla.
The family of the thirties filed a complaint Thursday, February 16. According to AFP, a judicial investigation against X for manslaughter is now open by the Mulhouse prosecution.
