Top health: How is the notion of commitment valuable today?
Frank Pierrot: Commitment is first and foremost a word that we give to ourselves, a contract that we sign with ourselves. ” I am committed to… “. The door is open to different aspirations.
Getting involved means feeling alive and giving yourself the means to follow through on your dreams or desires. Commitment means “taking action”, “doing”, without expecting personal glory or things in return. It is a deep question of alignment. To be in the right place at the right time. In life, everyone plays their part according to their place in the orchestra.
What is the message you would like to deliver?
Frank Pierrot: We are not much on this earth, but everyone can do great things for themselves or for others. But, faced with the actions to be taken… the ship will not move forward alone! You have to tune into the waves of joy. Without satisfaction, there is no possible commitment.
How did you design your method?
Frank Pierrot: : I leaned on the precepts which always animated me. First when I was at the GIGN, then when I returned to civilian life. I have retained 7 of them which seem to me to be essential for progressing, which are as valid in personal life as in professional life.
Commitment is not a quality that we have or do not have, but the consequence of a way of setting goals that are aligned with who we are, of expressing our courage to face our fears and blockages and of finding and deploying our energy.
Of the seven proposed rules, which is the most complicated?
Frank Pierrot: The most difficult thing is to hold on over time, to maintain the effort. And that’s what will make all the difference in the end. I designed these rules as an initiatory journey. To dare and win, you have to be rigorous, otherwise it won’t work. Finally, it is our unconscious fears that prevent us from moving forward, following a roadmap and adapting to the situation.
Engagement develops agility and adaptation to events. And in life, you can bounce back when you are agile, otherwise you break your face. It’s my daily behavior that will give me this flexibility…
This state of mind implies a lot of change, do you have any advice to give?
Frank Pierrot: To go slowly, never radically. And listen to his feelings. Everything must be done smoothly, a guarantee of well-being. If I have a stomach ache on the way to work, it’s a sign of chafing, it’s time to slow down, otherwise it’s the wall guaranteed. The body speaks, you have to know how to listen to it and find the right balance
Personally, I often take his pulse. Is it my heart speaking? Or is it my mind that decides? I am looking for this feeling of fluidity to move forward. This is how you become the leader of your life again without being too hard on yourself.
