Good news at last ! According to a recent OnePoll survey for the lastminute.com brand (conducted among 14,000 adults in France, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and Ireland between December 2017 and January 2018), 57% of French people say they are “happy”… Quite simply.
Happiness is obviously a question of geography: the figures thus reveal that it is the inhabitants of the Grand Est (62%), PACA (61%) and Ile-de-France (61%) regions who are the happiest. Who said that the sun was essential for well-being? To deny this tenacious prejudice, 10% of Ile-de-France residents and 11% of Normans even admit to being “very happy” on a daily basis. Smile in the rain, a whole philosophy!
Holidays, family and friends: the keys to happiness
Unsurprisingly, all respondents (or almost) agree that the No. 1 factor of happiness is the holidays: 44% of French people are looking forward to them. On the podium then come family, friends and – inevitably – love…
However, here too, there are still some regional disparities: 58% of the inhabitants of the Grand Est and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions note the importance of health and the Corsicans, that of money (33%) and sex (17%)… Cliché, did you say “cliché”?
How to be happier? For 37% of the adults questioned, it would be necessary to win the Loto. For others, it would be necessary to travel more often: a wish shared by 16% of the inhabitants of the Bourgogne Franche Comté and PACA regions, 13% of the inhabitants of Brittany and 12% of the inhabitants of New Aquitaine. Hop, we’re packing!
