Your antivirus program keeps a lot of trouble at bay, but there’s always malware that slips through the cracks. Additional scanners are available for that purpose. Malwarebytes is well known, but RogueKiller falls into that category as well. RogueKiller scans your entire system (a time-consuming task) for the presence of possible malware and rootkits, using a variety of techniques. Some of these are still in development, but luckily the settings menu gives you full control over the deployment of that arsenal.
