When it comes to media players, there are several camps. Some are satisfied with what Windows has to offer as standard, others swear by an alternative such as VLC or – for years Voor Nop’s personal favorite – PotPlayer. The choice has just become even more difficult because Gert Rave tipped us about the beautiful and compact Light Alloy.
Light Alloy is a lightweight for your system to start with, and it comes in a portable version; two qualities that we can always appreciate. The program plays just about any audio and video format you can think of, including DVDs and Blu-ray discs. It uses internal codecs, which always saves a lot of trouble. Add extensive internet radio, the necessary filters to edit your videos live and a very pleasant user interface and you have a media player that can be seen and heard.
