For Nop is always looking for toys to create beautiful desktop backgrounds and in that category falls JWildFire, a fractal program that has been on the road for many years and is still under development. It specializes in so-called flame fractals; these are beautiful shapes that often look very organic and of which you can also make 3D versions. The program requires Java that you have to download and install separately yourself (www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads† If you don’t want that, you can find a friendly-priced version at Steam or the Mac app store (about 9 euros).
