Rival of the Renault Kangoo, the new Ford Tourneo Connect is available from €27,620. The range includes a petrol engine, two diesels, two body lengths, five or seven seats, and numerous options allowing this technical cousin of the Volkswagen Caddy to be configured “à la carte”.
The result of the partnership between Ford and Volkswagen, the new Ford Tourneo Connect is based on the Volkswagen Caddy, and is now available to order in France. The blue oval MPV takes over almost everything from its first cousin; it is distinguished from it essentially by its front face. The Tourneo Connect is offered with the Caddy’s two most powerful engines and therefore costs €470 more in the basic version, at €27,620. It is also more expensive than the entry-level Renault Kangoo (€25,500). Like the Caddy, the Tourneo Connect is offered in two lengths, with five or seven seats in both cases.
Two catalog finishes
Only two finishes are offered for the Ford Tourneo Connect, namely Titanium and Active. The basic endowment is already complete and includes in particular:
- manual air conditioning
- front and rear parking sensors
- 10-inch central touch screen
- navigation system
- adaptive cruise control
- hill start assist
- lane keeping aid
- autonomous emergency avoidance maneuver
- fatigue detector
- automatic lights and wipers
- directional fog lights
- 3 USB-C ports
- heated front seats
- sliding side rear doors
- electrically folding mirrors
- 16 inch alloy wheels
The Active model bets on an adventurous aspect with black plastic underbody guards, metal plates highlighting the bumpers and 17-inch rims. Note that the rear windows remain fixed regardless of the configuration.
Many options
Some equipment that one would expect as standard on a high-end finish is therefore only offered as an option. For example, the dual-zone automatic air conditioning (€444), the reversing camera (€378), the LED headlights which are adaptive (€744), or the panoramic roof (€618) which is incompatible with the rear air conditioning. (€822). The digital instrument cluster is not yet available ; the shortage of semiconductors may have something to do with it. For the time being, the announced Sport finish is not offered either.
